Psychrometry and Air Conditioning systems

1

Psychrometry and Air Conditioning systems, Air Conditioning system Design.

Course Description

This course is helpful to Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Students as well as Practicing HVAC Engineers for :

  1. Understand and calculation of properties of air
  2. Air Conditioning system types and
  3. Sizing of Air Conditioner.

The course is designed for beginners to start with the basics of Psychrometry then actual air conditioning systems are explained. At the end of the course students will be able to design and size the air conditioner required for their specific application.

For practicing HVAC engineers this course will refresh their basic concepts and will help to precisely size the AC instead of thumb rule based practice.

Content:

Psychrometry :– Basic Psychrometry and processes, BPF of coil, ADP, adiabatic mixing of two air streams, SHF, RSHF, GSHF, ESHF. Factors contributing to cooling load, Numerical based on load analysis

Air Conditioning Systems :- Working of summer, winter and all year round AC systems, all air system, all water system, air water system, variable refrigerant flow and variable air volume systems, unitary and central air conditioning
