She aspires to advance the frontiers of Computer Science and Engineering through impactful research and transformative teaching methodologies, while mentoring students and empowering them with both foundational and cutting-edge skills.
Professional Journey
Dr. Justina brings over 13+ years of diverse experience in engineering education, instructor-led and web-based training, and academic research, having served as a full-time research scholar, Assistant Professor, and technical trainer. At present, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Networking and Communications, School of Computing, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai.
Academic Credentials
Dr. Justina earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering as a full-time scholar at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai (June 2021 – July 2025). She holds a master's in engineering (M.E.-CSE) in 2010 and a bachelor's in technology (B.Tech.-IT) in 2008 from ANNA University.
Teaching Excellence
She is certified in High Impact Teaching Skills by WIPRO–ISTE through the completion of Level 1 Dale Carnegie Training. Since 2010, Dr. Justina has been shaping young minds with innovative pedagogical approaches, guiding student projects, and serving as a resource person in workshops and training programs. Through both online and offline platforms, she has educated and inspired more than 1,000 students.
Research Contributions and Recognition
Embarking on her research journey in 2021, Dr. Justina focused on Artificial Intelligence applications in agriculture, specifically designing a novel deep learning architecture for weed identification to enhance agricultural efficiency and sustainability in India. Her pioneering work has earned several accolades, including the ISWS Student Travel Grant Award (2022) from the Indian Society of Weed Science, Oral Speaker Distinction at the 3rd International Weed Conference in Gujarat (Dec 2022), the Best Poster Presentation Award at DPRC 2022, and the Gold Medal for Research Excellence (2024) at SRMIST Research Day. Her research interests include Deep Learning Architectures, Artificial Intelligence Applications, and Computer Vision, with a strong emphasis on real-world innovation and societal impact.
