AI Integration and Academic Integrity in HS Classrooms, Harnessing AI to Support Learning Without Compromising Integrity.
Course Description
This course provides high school educators, instructional coaches, and school administrators with practical strategies for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into the classroom while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. As AI technologies become increasingly prevalent, educators face the dual challenge of leveraging their benefits for personalized learning, engagement, and critical thinking, while preventing misuse that could compromise student honesty and ethical practices.
Through this course, participants will analyze the impact of AI on teaching, learning, and classroom practices, gaining a clear understanding of both opportunities and challenges. Learners will apply strategies for integrating AI into lesson planning, instruction, and student support, ensuring that these tools enhance rather than replace critical thinking skills. Participants will also evaluate potential risks to academic integrity and develop actionable guidelines to address misuse, plagiarism, and ethical concerns. Finally, learners will design classroom policies, assessments, and practices that responsibly incorporate AI, promoting originality, accountability, and ethical decision-making.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to thoughtfully harness AI in high school classrooms, transforming learning experiences while upholding academic honesty. This course blends theoretical foundations, real-world case studies, and practical applications, preparing educators to navigate the evolving digital landscape responsibly and effectively.
