Course Description

Hello and welcome to my course on building and piloting an Aging-at-Home program for low-income older and/or disabled adults in Central Iowa.

Participants of this course will learn about occupational therapy’s role in creating and designing programming to benefit low-income individuals and families who value remaining in their homes. Participants will learn about the impact of social determinants of health on Aging-in-Place, explore practical strategies to reduce barriers through home preservation and community supports, and examine administrative efforts to improve accessibility and resource literacy for aging at home.

This course contains lectures, resources, and research supporting this topic. Additionally, there are resources that can be downloaded to support your learning. At the end of the presentation, a 4-question knowledge check will be completed to assess your learning gained by viewing the course.
